We recognise the trust you put in us to keep your supply chain moving. The health and safety of our customers are vitally important to us, above everything else. As most of us are now all aware, new restrictions have been put in place with the unprecedented state-wide shutdown of non-essential activities to deal with the containment of COVID-19.
After clarifying the term “essential services,” we have received confirmation from our partners at the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) that Ports and Airports will continue to operate, and the associated logistics chain will be required to support the clearance and movement of freight so supplies are maintained.
Whilst Forwarders, Customs Brokers, Depots etc. have not been specially mentioned, the FTA has sought assurance from the respective states, territories, and national government that these service providers all form part of the logistics chain and will be viewed as essential services.
That said, BCR is still operating as normal and our existing communication channels remain the same.
- We will be monitoring the situation closely, and if there are any changes, we will notify you immediately.
- We will remain open and available during this time of uncertainty. We want to ensure that your goods are in safe hands, and you have the support that you need to keep your business going.
- We will continue to support small businesses. Our customer care team will be working hard to support our clients during this time.
All BCR offices have a strong Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place, and our customers can be reassured that our existing high levels of service will continue.
As we see more closures in the public and private sector, we understand that many customers may encounter issues regarding the temporary storage of their goods until premises re-open. BCR has warehouse facilities located all across Australia and can help you with your storage needs. Please contact your local customer service representative for more information.
We appreciate your email inboxes are full of updates on COVID-19, please be assured if you receive one from BCR, it’s because we believe it is important for you to manage your business. Our Customer Service team are also in contact with you on a regular basis.
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your local BCR Customer Service Representative.
