covid-19-bcr-update-24-march-2020-b

Valued Customer,

We recognise the trust you put in us to keep your supply chain moving. The health and safety of our customers are vitally important to us, above everything else. As most of us are now all aware, new restrictions have been put in place with the unprecedented state-wide shutdown of non-essential activities to deal with the containment of COVID-19.

After clarifying the term “essential services,” we have received confirmation from our partners at the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) that Ports and Airports will continue to operate, and the associated logistics chain will be required to support the clearance and movement of freight so supplies are maintained.

Whilst Forwarders, Customs Brokers, Depots etc. have not been specially mentioned, the FTA has sought assurance from the respective states, territories, and national government that these service providers all form part of the logistics chain and will be viewed as essential services.

That said, BCR is still operating as normal and our existing communication channels remain the same.

  • We will be monitoring the situation closely, and if there are any changes, we will notify you immediately.
  • We will remain open and available during this time of uncertainty. We want to ensure that your goods are in safe hands, and you have the support that you need to keep your business going.
  • We will continue to support small businesses. Our customer care team will be working hard to support our clients during this time.

All BCR offices have a strong Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place, and our customers can be reassured that our existing high levels of service will continue.
